What We Believe

We believe that the Scriptures, both the Old Testament and New Testament, were given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit through human authors.  They are inerrant and infallible in their originals; completely sufficient and the only authoritative rule for faith and practice (Psa. 19:7-9; 2Tim. 3:16-17; 2Pet. 1:20-21).

We believe in the doctrine of the Trinity.  The Triune God of the Scriptures is one in essence, yet three in persons; completely equal in nature being God, yet functioning separately in person as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (John 5:19-47; 14:9, 16-17, 15:26, 16:7-15; Matt. 28:19).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Is. 9:6, Matt. 1:23, 25; Luke 1:27, 34).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, in His incarnate state, was fully man and fully God.  Jesus was not a created being but God the Creator, existing in eternity past, responsible for creating all things.  He was born a complete man perfectly fulfilling God’s Law, never ceasing to be God (John 1:1-3, 14; Mat. 5:17; Col. 1:15-17; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 1:3; 1John 1:1-4).

We believe that Jesus Christ died as the substitution for sinners who believe in Him and exercise repentance, submitting to Him as Lord and Savior (Mark 10:45; Acts 17:30; Rom. 2:4, 5:6, 8, 10:9-10; 1Cor. 15:3; 2Cor.5:21; Eph. 2:8-10; 1Tim. 1:15; 2Tim. 2:25; 2Pet. 3:9).

We believe that no righteous work of our own can or does merit forgiveness from God, but that Christ earned our forgiveness by paying our sin-debt owed to God in full. (Rom. 3:23, 4:5; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 2:8-9; Phil. 3:9; Col. 2:13-14; 2Tim. 1:9; Titus 3:5; 1Pet. 3:18).

We believe that we are sinners, guilty of breaking God’s Law and by God’s gift of grace, faith, and repentance, granted to us, we are able to exercise faith in Christ, repentance of our sin, and obedience to His Word which demonstrates our conversion (John 1:12-13; Rom. 3:10-23; Gal. 3:22; Eph. 2:8-9; 2Tim. 2:25; 1John 1:8-10).

We believe that Jesus Christ physically rose again from the dead for our justification which is imparted to us through faith alone.  Through faith we trust that Christ’s death and resurrection acquitted and pardoned us of our sins, and like Christ, we will rise again from the dead one day (Rom. 4:5, 25, 5:1; 1Cor. 1:30, 15:1-22; 2Cor. 5:21).

We believe that Jesus Christ is alive and physically ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19; Acts 2:33; Rom. 8:34; Col. 3:1).

We believe that Jesus Christ will physically descend from Heaven, one day, to gather His own into His kingdom (Dan. 7:13-14; Matt. 24:30; Acts 1:11; 1Thes. 4:16).

We believe that every Christian is made spiritually alive (regenerated), spiritually cleansed and spiritually indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God.  This new nature produces a change in the intellect, affections, and will within a person whereby they are granted spiritual illumination and understanding of God’s Word, and as a response, strive for holiness and Christ-likeness  (Rom. 8:28-29, 14:17, 15:13; 2Cor. 5:17; Eph. 1:13-14, 2:1-6; Titus 3:5).

We believe that God will judge the world through the person of Jesus Christ wherein everyone will be recompensed for the deeds done in their bodies.  The wicked will be judged and condemned into everlasting, conscious, painful judgment; the righteous into everlasting life in heaven with our God and Savior Jesus Christ (Matt. 13:49-50, 25:26; John 5:22, 27-29; Acts 17:31; Rom. 6:5-11; 2Cor. 5:11; 2Thes. 1:6-12; 2Tim. 4:8).
