Dave Barr

Deacon

I was born in Hyannis in the summer of 1952, and have lived on Cape Cod ever since. In 1972 I met and married my wife, Sherry. The Lord has blessed us with 3 children and seven grandchildren.

It was in the fall of 1983 when I realized that I was a sinner and as such, I was condemned by God. I sought the forgiveness that was purchased for me by the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I know that I have been His child since then. In that year we joined a local church and were there until 1988.

In 1989, having been involved in other area churches we believed that the Bible was not being taught the way it should be taught. We became involved in the planting of Cape Cod Bible Church. My wife and I were looking for a church that taught God’s Word accurately, glorifying Him, and exalting the Lord Jesus Christ, not just preaching the Gospel, but also training people to do the work of the ministry, as written in Ephesians chapter 4. So, a small group of us started one. We are still worshipping at Cape Cod Bible Church where we hear accurate, expository preaching of the scriptures, and are being trained for and used by the Lord in different ministries within His church.
